Seattle Police run toward a campus building following a shooting at Seattle Pacific University, June 5, 2014.
Police in the western U.S. state of Washington say one person has been killed and three others wounded in a shooting on a college campus in the city of Seattle, Washington.

Police officials say one of the victims has life-threatening injuries, and the other two are in stable condition.

They say one suspect is in custody.

Police initially said they were searching for a second suspect, but later announced they were no longer seeking anyone else.

The shooting took place Thursday in a building on the campus of Seattle Pacific University, a Christian school. Police say the shooter entered the building and opened fire before he was subdued by a student monitor.

The university is in lockdown with classes suspended.

The incident comes less than two weeks after a 22-year-old man killed six people near the University of California, Santa Barbara, before shooting and killing himself. The man, Elliot Rodger, was the son of a Hollywood film director, Peter Rodger.
