A roadside bomb has killed a local political party official in northwestern Pakistan, ahead of elections scheduled for May 11.
Police officials say Mukarram Shah, a local leader of the Awami National Party in Pakistan's Swat valley, died when the bomb exploded while he was driving past.
There was no claim of responsibility, but Shah's party is one of several that have been threatened by the Taliban in the time leading up to the elections.
