Shots Fired, No Injuries Near Istanbul Landmark

Police in Istanbul have arrested two people after shots were fired near the city's Dolmabache Palace. There are no reports of causalities in the attack near the popular tourist destination.

Also on Wednesday, eight soldiers were killed in the southeastern province of Siirt. The bombing has been linked to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party as the country faces internal political turmoil.

Ankara began a military offensive against the the Kurdish rebel group late last month, ending hopes of a peace deal with the group.
