Pakistani media reports say that police have arrested two staff members of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, accusing them of “speeding and hitting and seriously injuring a pedestrian.”

Authorities in Islamabad have registered a case against the two Indians but they would soon be released to their High Commission because they enjoy diplomatic immunity, local television channels said.

Earlier, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aisha Farooqui when contacted for comments on the reports of two missing Indians told reporters she "will have to verify these reports” before making any comments.

India recently expelled two High Commission of Pakistan officials in New Delhi, accusing them of espionage.

India says its officials in Islamabad have been harassed since the expulsion of the Pakistani officials from New Delhi.
