Mahatma Ghandi once said “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Unfortunately, he never encountered the Top Five. Nothing changes this week…although the deck does get shuffled.

Let’s start in fifth place, where Maroon 5 dips a slot with “Sugar.” If you’re in Hong Kong in September…and you like this band…you’re in luck! Maroon 5 is adding dates to its world tour, and on September 4, it hits Hong Kong for the fourth time. Adam Levine and his crew previously visited in 2007, 2011, and 2012. Top tickets are selling for 988 Hong Kong dollars apiece…that works out to about $127 (U.S.).

The Weeknd dips a slot to fourth place with “Earned It.” Although he has yet to hit number one, this Canadian singer is ringing the cash register. This song has now sold more than 1.5 million copies in the United States. His Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack companion Ellie Goulding (Golding) is sneaking up on the two million-seller mark with her smash, “Love Me Like You Do.”

Jumping two slots to third place is Fetty Wap with “Trap Queen.” This song recently celebrated its first anniversary. Later that year, Fetty signed with Lyor Cohen’s 300 Entertainment label.

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars remain dangerous in second place with their former 14-week champ “Uptown Funk.” This song now boasts a total of 11 songwriting credits…the most recent being the writers of the old Gap Band hit “Oops Up Side Your Head.” The new credits arose out of a copyright dispute.

So far, our number one song claims four authors…and they’re no doubt happy as Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth top the Hot 100 for a third week with “See You Again.” On May 2, Wiz turned in an emotional performance of this song on the Saturday Night Live TV show. On June 10, Wiz Khalifa hits the road for a two-month North American tour with co-headliner Fall Out Boy.

That’s all for now, but join us next week to see what the charts hath wrought.
