A new law passed in February makes France the world’s first country to ban supermarket waste, forcing large stores to give edible food to charity.  The legislation takes a bite out of the roughly seven million tons of food wasted in France yearly — mostly by consumers. But, as Lisa Bryant reports for VOA from Paris, it’s only the first step.
