African Community Grows in Texas Prison Town

Most immigrants to the United States live in large cities, but many prefer smaller communities that offer a slower pace and proximity to rural scenery. One such place is Huntsville, Texas, where a community of close to 300 Africans now thrives. As VOA’s Greg Flakus reports from Huntsville, jobs at nearby state prisons are what drew many of them to this city of just under 40,000 people.
