Congress Struggles With Social Media

House Democrats warned Republican leadership of a coming clash over new rules fining lawmakers who use popular social media tools such as Facebook Live and Periscope to broadcast action on the House floor. The social media penalties are a direct response to last summer’s gun control sit-in when protesting Democrats used livestreaming to get their message out to the public.
