Hostpital officials in India say a four-year-old who was raped earlier this month has died.

Officials in Nagpur say the child died Monday night from cardiac arrest.

Authorities say the child's parents found her unconscious a day after the rape in the town of Ghansour, in Madhya Pradesh state.

Indian media reports say she was taken to a local hospital, but was later airlifted to the hospital in Nagpur.

At least one person has been arrested in connection with the case.
