Zimbabwean golfer Bruce McDonald has a one-shot lead over Ernie Els of South Africa after the first round of the European PGA Tour's season-opening Dunhill Championship in South Africa.
McDonald, who turned pro just a year ago, fired a 6-under-par, 66 on the Leopard Creek Country Club Course. Els is trying for his sixth title of the year and produced the only bogey-free round of the day with his 67.
Two shots off the pace at 68 are England's Neil Cheetham, Benoit Teilleria of France, his countryman Raphael Eyraud and South Africa's James Kamte.
