Afghan officials say bomb blasts Monday in eastern Afghanistan have targeted and killed police officers.
Authorities in Logar province said a suicide bomber dressed in a police uniform struck a convoy of the regional police chief, just outside the provincial police headquarters, killing at least seven police officers, including the police chief. Four people were wounded in the explosion.

In Nangarhar province near the border with Pakistan, three police academy instructors on their way to work in Jalalabad were killed when a powerful bomb exploded near their vehicle. Another officer was critically wounded in the blast.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for both attacks and reported a much higher death toll.
Authorities also reported a blast in Kabul that wounded at least two civilians.
