A bomb has exploded near a Sunni mosque in northern Iraq, killing at least 11 people.
The blast occurred on Tuesday in Kirkuk as worshippers were leaving after morning prayers marking the major Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
At least 22 people were wounded in the attack.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon issued a statement Monday condemning a string of bombings in the days leading up to Eid al-Adha. He called the attacks "particularly despicable" because they come as Iraqis observe the holiday by helping the needy and suffering.
Ban urged the country's leaders to work toward political unity and away from the sectarian violence that continues to plague the country.
