Ecuador Declares War on Gangs Labeled Terrorists

Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa this week classified 22 gangs as terrorist groups and declared a “state of war” against them. The move followed an armed attack during a live television broadcast in the port city of Guayaquil on Tuesday during which hooded men took journalists hostage.
