15 Killed in Twin Bombings at Shi'ite Mosque in Iraq

Baghdad, Iraq

Two suicide bombers killed 15 people at a Shi'ite mosque in Baghdad Thursday, Iraqi security officials said.

Four of the dead were members of the security forces and 48 more people were injured, authorities said.

The first assailant detonated the bomb inside the mosque. The second assailant blew himself up when security forces arrived at the site of the initial blast.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing in the predominantly Shia neighborhood of Shula but the Islamic State group often targets Shi'ite Muslims.
