Legal Program for Detained Immigrants Under Review

The U.S. Justice Department is re-evaluating its program that educates undocumented immigrant detainees about their legal rights to determine its worth and cost effectiveness — both of which were demonstrated in a previous study. Almost 20 nonprofit organizations carry out the Legal Orientation Program in detention centers around the country.
