Macedonia Holds Presidential Election

Young people pass beside boards with election posters of Gjorge Ivanov, (l), current Macedonian President and a candidate of the ruling conservative VMRO-DPMNE party, with a slogan "The State Before All", and Stevo Pendarovski, (c), a candidate of opposition Social-democrats, with a slogan "Macedonia Deserves a President", in Skopje, Macedonia.

Macedonia is voting for a president Sunday.

Incumbent President Gjorge Ivanov is one of four candidates seeking the largely ceremonial post.

If no candidate wins more than 50 percent of the votes cast Sunday, the two top rivals will go head-to-head in a runoff on April 27 when the parliamentary elections will also be held.
