It was a car chase that could have only happened in Los Angeles.
For about two hours, a burglary suspect led police on a chase through L.A. The chase, which unfolded on TV, included “donut” stunts, a near collision with a bus operated by celebrity gossip website TMZ and ended with people taking selfies with the driver and a passenger.
The chase started around 1:30 p.m. local time Thursday and covered “much of the greater Los Angeles area,” according to KTLA TV.
At the end of the chase, the suspect drove the rented navy blue convertible Mustang to a neighborhood where he reportedly lived. It was unclear if the suspect rented the car or stole it.

The Gizmodo website reported an “almost a celebrity vibe” as the car came to a stop and the suspects began “shaking hands and high-fiving” people on the street.
In the 10 minutes it took before the police arrived, the suspects and bystanders began snapping selfies.
