It's been nine months since a gunman killed 17 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. It was the deadliest high school shooting in American history, and it marked a turning point for many young people who used gun violence as a rallying cry for political action, urging their contemporaries to vote.
