Human rights activists in Kenya demonstrated Thursday following Uganda’s detention of popular lawmaker Robert Kyagulani, a musician-politician known also as Bobi Wine. Kyagulani was arrested earlier this month for unlawful possession of firearms – a charge that was dropped Thursday while another, more serious charge, was made – treason. The Kenyan activists called for the release of some 300 people who were arrested alongside Kyagulani, including 30-some others charged with treason – five of them opposition lawmakers.
