Several Killed in Nigerian Village Attack

Armed men in Nigeria have attacked a village in the country's northeast, torching houses and killing several people.

Saturday's attack in Koronginim village took place about nine kilometers from the town of Chibok, where Boko Haram militants kidnapped more than 270 schoolgirls in April.

Nearly 60 of the girls escaped soon after the Boko Haram raid, but Nigerian officials say 219 remain unaccounted for.

The Chibok kidnapping and other attacks in the area have underscored Nigeria's inability to stamp out the militant group, which aims to carve out a radical Islamist state in the mostly Muslim north.
