6 Afghan Civilians Killed in Blast

Officials in southern Afghanistan say a roadside bomb blast has killed six family members.

Authorities say the two women and four men, all civilians, were killed Friday evening when their car struck a mine in the Nad Ali district of Helmand province.

Roadside bombs are the favorite weapons of Taliban insurgents fighting to oust the Western-backed government of President Hamid Karzai.
