Eunjung Cho
Eunjung Cho is an anchor and reporter based in VOA’s Washington, D.C., headquarters. Cho was the first anchor for VOA Korean Service’s weekly TV discussion program “Washington Talk,” where she brought together prominent U.S. experts to discuss security and diplomacy in Asia. Cho is a skilled moderator for panel discussions that tackles complex issues.
Since joining VOA Korean service in 2007, Cho quickly became one of the highest-profile reporters with her global scoop on the release of a Canadian detained in North Korea. In 2014, she filed investigative reports from Qatar on dire conditions of North Korean workers. Her reporting was cited in a special U.N. human rights report the next year. She also closely covered U.S. policy on North Korea from the State Department and Capitol Hill.
Her two decades of international broadcast journalism started at Arirang TV, a global satellite network in Seoul, South Korea. During her six years at Arirang, she served as an anchor and correspondent to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Unification Ministry and the Finance and Economy Ministry. Cho earned a bachelor’s degree in French language and literature from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul.
