A bill that’s coming into effect in several U.S. states this year could help pave the way for financial independence for people with disabilities. ABLE accounts, which were created by a group of parents of children with disabilities, will allow people with disabilities to set aside money for living and healthcare expenses. The account is tax-free and won’t affect eligibility for government assistance. Treva Thrush reports.
