VOA Ukrainian Fact Sheet

VOA's Ukrainian Service provides audiences in Ukraine and Ukrainian speakers around the world with accurate, objective and comprehensive news and information on U.S.-Ukraine relations, U.S. foreign policy and developments in the United States. In keeping with the VOA Charter, the service presents U.S. policies clearly and effectively and includes responsible discussion of those policies. Its coverage highlights democracy, human rights, press freedom and free-market economies, and examines their benefits alongside the consequences of authoritarian rule, state control and oligarchic influence in Russia. It offers a balanced and comprehensive look at American life and institutions, including democratic governance, business, health, science and technology. It also fosters cultural, economic, academic and other connections between the United States and Ukraine. Audiences access its reporting through television affiliates, its website, livestreams on YouTube and social media.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, the service has expanded its coverage of the war, with analysis from international experts and responses from U.S. and world leaders. Its reporting documents Russia's conduct of the war and its human consequences, and helps audiences understand efforts toward peace and accountability.
