Joyce Banda was Malawi’s first female president, from 2012 – 2014, and Africa’s second. She is also the founder of the Joyce Banda Foundation International that promotes the rights of women, children and other marginalized groups. Ms. Banda discusses the challenges facing women seeking public office and also talks about what Africa can learn from the U.S. elections.
