Chile's Supreme Court has delayed a decision on whether to uphold an indictment against former dictator Augusto Pinochet on murder and kidnapping charges.
One member of the five-judge panel (Enrique Cury) said a ruling will be issued early next month, but did not give a reason for the delay.
General Pinochet, who is recovering from a stroke, has been indicted on one count of murder and nine counts of kidnapping. The charges stem from "Operation Condor," a plan implemented in the 1970s by Latin American military leaders to repress political opposition.
More than 3,000 people were killed in Chile for political reasons during General Pinochet's 17-year rule, that ended in 1990.
