US attorney general asked to reopen probe into Nigeria deal by two oil giants

U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has been asked by two members of the National Security and Illicit Finance Committee of Congress to reopen a probe into the purchase of a lucrative oil field in Nigeria by oil giants Shell and Eni. Nimo Bassey, the executive director of the ecological think tank, the Health of Mother Earth Foundation, tells VOA’s Chinedu Offor that officials indicted in the probe should be prosecuted.
