17 Soldiers Killed in Pakistan Blast

Pakistan officials say a suicide car bomber has hit a military checkpoint in the country's northwest, killing 17 soldiers.
The Associated Press reports more than three dozen people were wounded in the assault Sunday.
The attack took place in the North Waziristan tribal region, a known sanctuary for Taliban and al-Qaida militants.
