Officials in China say a bus has plunged into a canal, killing 26 of the 30 people onboard.

Authorities say a tire blew out, causing the driver of the sleeper coach to lose control and crash through a guardrail, plunging into a water-filled canal.

The accident occurred late Friday near the northern port city of Tianjin.
