Indonesian Gunmen Shoot, Kill Another Policeman in Jakarta

Gunmen in Jakarta have targeted and killed another policeman, the latest in a series of attacks on officers in the Indonesian capital.

Authorities say they arrested six suspects following the shooting on Sunday, the seventh such attack in Jakarta this year. Officials say they are searching for two more suspects.

Most of the attacks, including the one on Sunday, have involved gunmen on motorcycles shooting their target before racing away from the scene. Only two of the seven policemen have survived the attacks.

The newly appointed Chief of National Police, Sutarman, said solving these murders is his priority.

"Hopefully we will be able to solve this case soon, since we have arrested six important suspects. We made a lot of progress in our investigation, but we have yet to uncover the whole story," he said.

The national police counterterrorism squad is working on the cases and suspect an unnamed terror group is behind the killings.
