Someone got more than a tank of gas when he or she played the Powerball lottery game at a gas station in southwestern Michigan.

The Three Rivers West Shell station in Three Rivers sold the only winning ticket in the $310.5 million drawing Wednesday night.

"It's crazy that it would be here in small town Three Rivers. ... It's just crazy to think,'' employee Liz Smith told WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo.

Michigan Lottery officials are urging the winner to step forward. The jackpot can be paid over 30 years or the winner can choose a lump sum of about $197 million before taxes.

The gas station, 30 miles south of Kalamazoo, is just minutes from the Indiana border, so the winner might be from out of state. The numbers drawn were 21, 39, 40, 55 and 59, and the Powerball was 17.

Eric Jorge said he was checking his tickets after a police officer gave him the news.

"He said, 'Did you hear what happened?' So my first thing is thinking someone robbed the store, and he's like, 'No! Someone bought the Powerball ticket for the 300 million,' '' Jorge said. "I know I bought one here the other day so I hope I'm the one!''
