Bus Bomb Kills 3 Afghan Policemen

Officials in eastern Afghanistan say a bomb planted on a minibus has exploded, killing three policemen and wounding six others.

The blast happened Thursday in Jalalabad as the bus was traveling to a police training facility.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Elsewhere in the east, a roadside bomb struck a vehicle, killing two people Thursday in the Dih Yak district of Ghazni province. Officials say two women and two children were wounded in the blast.

Another roadside bomb killed a NATO service member in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday. The coalition did not give the exact location of the attack or the service member's nationality.

Also Wednesday, NATO said Afghan and coalition forces killed 17 insurgents while searching for an al-Qaida leader in Kunar province. It said during the operation security forces returned fire at a group of people standing in a doorway, killing one of the insurgents and "two women he was hiding behind."
