In National Basketball Association playoff action, the San Antonio Spurs have a 2-0 lead over the Phoenix Suns after winning Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals Tuesday 111-108.
San Antonio's Tim Duncan scored 30 points, Argentine Manu Ginobili added 26 and Tony Parker of France contributed another 24 for the Spurs.
The Suns came back late in the contest and had a chance to force overtime, but Canada's Steve Nash missed a three-point shot at the buzzer. Nash had 29 points for the Suns while Amare Stoudemire had 37 to lead all scorers.
This loss puts Phoenix in a difficult position. No NBA team has ever lost its first two home games in a conference championship series and come back to win.
The Eastern Confernce Finals continue Wednesday night when the Miami Heat takes on the reigning champion Detroit Pistons. Detroit leads the series, 1-0.
