The matchup of the last two NBA champions stayed close until the final period, when Ginoboli and the host Spurs went on a 19-4 run and put the game away.
Tim Duncan added 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Spurs, who held the defending champion Pistons to their lowest output of this year's playoffs.
Chauncey Billups led the Pistons with 25 points and Richard Hamilton added 14.
