Russia's Myskina Reaches Finals of the Nordea Nordic Light Open

Former French Open tennis champion Anastasia Myskina of Russia has reached the finals of the Nordea Nordic Light Open hard-court tournament in Stockholm, Sweden.

Myskina, the top seed, overcame a first set loss to beat Emilie Loit of France in the semifinals, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. The Russian faces the winner of a match between third-seeded countrywoman Vera Douchevina and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia.

Srebotnik, the tournament's fifth seed, was leading Douchevina 6-love (6-0), 6-5 when rain interrupted play. The match will resume Sunday with Douchevina serving at 15-30.

Myskina is favored to win her 10th W-T-A Tour title this week after Wimbledon champion Venus Williams of the United States pulled out of the tournament due to illness.

The Nordic Light Open is one of several events players are using to prepare for the last major tournament of the year, the U.S. Open, which starts August 29th in New York.
