Usher and his fiancee Tameka Foster exchanged vows in a low-key August 3 ceremony, one week after cancelling plans for an extravagant wedding.
People Magazine reports the 28-year-old singer and his 37-year-old former stylist were married in the Atlanta offices of Usher's lawyer.
On July 28, the couple abruptly cancelled plans to wed at the lavish Long Island estate of record executive Antonio "L.A." Reid. Several days after the cancellation, Foster confirmed she had a "pregnancy scare" for which she had to be briefly hospitalized.
The pair are expecting a child in the autumn. Foster has three other children from a previous marriage. Before news of the pregnancy scare broke, it was speculated that Foster had clashed with Usher's mother and former manager Jonnetta Patton, who had not been invited to the first wedding.
The Chicago Sun Times newspaper reported that Patton attended the August 3 ceremony.
Usher is expected to soon release a follow-up to his Grammy-winning 2005 album Confessions, which has sold 15 million copies. He also has a fragrance due out in September.
