Norwegian cyclist Kurt-Asle Arvesen has captured the 11th stage of the Tour de France, but his victory was overshadowed by the second positive drug test at this year's race. Australian rider Cadel Evans continues to hold the Tour leader's yellow jersey.
Arvesen won Wednesday's 167.5 - kilometer stage, from Lannemezan to Foix in a sprint finish, crossing the line just ahead of Swiss rider Martin Elmiger and Alessandro Ballan of Italy in 3:58:13.
But they were competing against one less rider after Spanish cyclist Moises Duenas Nevado was detained by police for doping. His urine test following the fourth stage of the race tested positive for the banned blood-booster EPO.
Cadel Evans maintained his one second overall lead ahead of Luxembourg rider Frank Schleck by finishing in the main pack, which completed the stage nearly 15 minutes behind Arvesen. American rider Christian Vande Velde remains in third place, 38 seconds back.
