LIVE BLOG: Hillary Clinton Accepts Democratic Nomination

update

Hillary Clinton accepted the Democratic Party's nomination for president Thursday night with a message stressing the need to unite in order to confront the nation's challenges. "It truly is up to us," she said.

Doug Elmets, a former Reagan administration official, says it's odd to be at the Democratic National Convention, not because it is a major event, but because he is a Republican.

The crowd cheers.

He says he's at the convention to say he knew Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump "you are no Ronald Reagan."

Granholm, who calls herself a fierce Democrat, is using her speech to address those people whom Republicans say have been left behind, and tying it into the night's theme that "stronger together."

She has injected some energy into the crowd.

Granholm is mocking Donald Trump, who repeatedly told Republicans at their party convention that he alone could fix America's problems.

She has got the crowd cheering.
