Meat Prices Spike as Pakistan Prepares to Celebrate Eid
Eid ul Adha is one of the two holiest festivals for Muslims around the world. The signature ritual of the festival is sacrificing animals, in memory of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son at God’s command, according to Muslim belief. Huge cattle markets spring up before the festival in many Muslim countries, offering customers a wide range of animals to choose from. One of the biggest cattle markets in Asia is held in Pakistan’s largest city Karachi.
