Pentagon Confirms US-backed Alliance Captured Key Dam from IS

The Pentagon confirmed Tuesday that a U.S.-backed alliance called "Democratic Forces of Syria" has captured a key dam after a four-day battle against the Islamic State group. According to a Pentagon official, the hydroelectric Tishrin Dam on the Euphrates River, 90 kilometers east of the Syrian city of Aleppo, is part of a key IS communications route.
