Drone footage showed new burials at a cemetery designated for COVID-19 victims in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, as cases hit a record high, Thursday, June 24.

Indonesia recorded its largest daily increase in coronavirus cases Thursday, with 20,574 infections, pushing the country's total tally to 2,053,995 cases and 55,949 deaths, according to data from the country's health ministry.

With 7,505 new infections Thursday, Jakarta is the worst hit area in Indonesia.

The capital city has recorded an average of more than 130 burials per day from June 16 to 21, according to data from the Jakarta COVID-19 task force's website.

A total of 72,00 COVID-19 related burials have been recorded since March last year.
