The coronavirus pandemic is affecting Russian President Vladimir Putin’s grip on power as evidenced by falling poll numbers and plummeting oil revenues. Russia experts, Angela Stent of Georgetown University and Fiona Hill, former senior director for European and Russian affairs on the National Security Council, now back at the Brookings Institution, tell host Carol Castiel that the pandemic’s toll on the oil-dependent economy and fragile health infrastructure poses a test for Putin’s authority at home and abroad.
