An Experiment in Community in the Middle of the Desert

Every year and only for a week, a city grows from the sand of the Nevada desert. Black Rock City has three principles: radical self-reliance, self-expression and gifting. The gathering is called Burning Man, and it’s been around for 30 years. Its creators wanted to build a community that rejects the basic laws of a modern capitalist society. VOA's Genia Dulot reports.
