US Maintains Nuclear Triad, Adds Two More Nuclear Capabilities

Nearly 30 years after the end of the Cold War, nuclear defense and deterrence is now back in the spotlight. The Pentagon presented a new nuclear plan this month that will modernize its air, land and sea-launched nuclear defense, also known as the nuclear triad, while making two changes to its nuclear arsenal.
