Amid Opposition, Planning Continues for Obama Presidential Center in Chicago

Though born in Hawaii, raised in Indonesia, and educated in New York City, former President Barack Obama has adopted the city of Chicago, his wife’s birthplace, as his hometown. The South Side of Chicago, where he got his start in politics as a community organizer in the 1980s, is where he plans to build his Presidential Center. As VOA’s Kane Farabaugh reports, there is growing concern about the project despite its eventual economic benefits.
