An attack by a suicide bomber killed 19 people and injured 65 others in eastern Afghanistan. Most of the victims are believed to be civilians celebrating the cease-fire between the Taliban and the Afghan government. The deadly attack in Jalalabad city happened on the third and final day of the Taliban armistice. After the attack, the Afghan government, however, called for a 10-day extension of the cease-fire, but the Taliban said they would not agree to it. Zia Urrahman reports.
