Science in a Minute 060919 IAU Seeks World's Help to Name Exoplanets

Currently there are about 4,000 confirmed exoplanets. Many have boring names like HD-75289. The International Astronomical Union wants to get the world’s input in giving them and their host stars popular names. The IAU is reaching out to countries in hopes that they’ll initiate national campaigns that will give the public a vote in deciding exoplanet names.
