The coal industry in West Virginia once played a major role in the state's economy. But as mines closed, miners and many others affected by industry shutdowns found themselves unemployed. Now they -- and other West Virginians looking to make extra money -- are finding a sweet alternative for their livelihood; harvesting honeybees. VOA’s Julie Taboh traveled to the southern region of the state to see how it’s being done.
