The number of people who have died from COVID-19 across the globe has now officially surpassed one million. The World Health Organization is warning that ahead of a successful and widely distributed vaccine, that number could double to two million without concerted action to curb the pandemic. In the United States, the number of cases rose in 27 states for two straight weeks.
