The leader of Rwanda’s opposition Green Party says he is running to be the country’s next president to solve the problems of food insecurity and youth unemployment, among others. Frank Habineza submitted his candidature Monday for the July 15 poll. The Rwandan government denied the application of another opposition leader Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza in the elections because she had been convicted and imprisoned. Habineza tells VOA’s James Butty, the electoral commission told him his application needed a letter saying he has no other nationality besides Rwanda.
